What the AI does — and doesn't do.
SeeMyChange is a camera-alignment tool, not a diagnostic one. Here's exactly what happens to a photo, in order, and where it does and doesn't go.
The loop, in detail
Capture
You take a photo. If you have a previous one in this journey, an on-screen guide overlays roughly where it was framed, so your new shot starts close to matching.
Align
On your device, SeeMyChange matches the new photo's framing to your reference photo. This step only adjusts alignment — crop, angle, distance. It does not analyze what's in the photo.
Compare
You see two aligned photos — side by side, or as a slider — and judge the change yourself. SeeMyChange never scores, measures, or labels what it sees.
What the AI never does
SeeMyChange's computer vision assists camera alignment only. It never fabricates measurements, diagnoses, or treatment-effectiveness claims — for any journey, including Body and Skin. There is no weight estimate, no skin analysis, no growth percentile, and no health score anywhere in the app. If you want that kind of assessment, that's a conversation for a doctor, dermatologist, vet, or trainer — SeeMyChange just keeps the photos organized and aligned so you have something clear to bring to that conversation, if you choose to.
Where your photos actually go
By default: nowhere. A private journey's photos are encrypted and stored only on your device. Two things can change that, and only if you choose them: turning on encrypted backup sends an encrypted copy to your own Google Drive, which SeeMyChange's servers never see the contents of; and publishing a photo to the optional Community feed sends one sanitized, watermarked derivative of a single photo you pick — never the original, never the rest of that journey. Baby & Child journeys are blocked from Community publishing entirely, at the account level.
Questions
Does the alignment AI diagnose or measure anything?
No. It only helps line up two photos to the same framing. It never measures, diagnoses, or makes any claim about health, treatment effectiveness, or outcomes — for any category, including Body and Skin.
Where does the alignment happen?
On your device. Your photo is not sent to a server to be aligned — the comparison guide and matching happen locally before you ever save or compare a photo.
What actually leaves my device?
Nothing, by default. If you turn on backup, an encrypted copy goes to your own Google Drive — SeeMyChange's servers never see it. If you publish a photo to Community, only that one sanitized, watermarked derivative is ever server-side.
